If you want to bet on Jonas Vingegaard from Denmark, one rule comes before all others: it is only legal to bet with bookmakers licensed by the Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden. Only they are connected to the ROFUS self-exclusion register, must require deposit limits and can be reported to a Danish authority. Here we explain how to recognise a licensed bookmaker, which bet types exist in cycling and what is special about live betting during a stage. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over only.
Betting on Jonas Vingegaard: licensed Danish bookmakers only
Spillemyndigheden issues licences to offer betting in Denmark and supervises the operators that hold them. A bookmaker without a Danish licence may not target Danish players. If you bet there anyway, you lose the protection Danish law gives you: you are not covered by ROFUS, there is no Danish authority to complain to and there is no guarantee that winnings will be paid out.
The age limit is 18, without exceptions. Danish operators must verify your age and identity before you can bet properly, usually with MitID.
How to recognise a licensed bookmaker
- Look the company up. spillemyndigheden.dk lists the companies holding a licence. Search for the company name, not just the website name.
- Look for the authority’s mark. A licensed operator must state on its front page that it is licensed and supervised by Spillemyndigheden and display the authority’s mark. A logo alone is not proof, so always check the list.
- Identification with MitID. Until your identity has been verified, only a temporary account can be opened.
- A deposit limit from the start. Before you can bet, you must set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit. Raising it takes effect after 24 hours at the earliest.
- ROFUS and StopSpillet. A Danish operator must check whether you are registered in ROFUS and point you to help if gambling gets out of hand.
Be wary of any site that does not ask for your name and age, does not mention Spillemyndigheden, only accepts cryptocurrency or promises “sure wins” on a bike race. Nobody can guarantee the outcome of a 21-stage race.
Bet types in races with Jonas Vingegaard
The choice varies between bookmakers and races, but the big stage races share the same basic markets. They are listed neutrally here – this is not a recommendation.
- Race winner: who wins the general classification, settled after the final stage.
- Podium and top 10: the rider must finish in the top three or top ten overall.
- Stage winner: GC riders like Vingegaard usually win on mountain stages and in time trials.
- Head-to-head between two riders: which of two riders finishes higher, overall or on a stage.
- Jersey competitions: points, mountains and the leader’s jersey – yellow at the Tour de France, pink at the Giro d’Italia, red at the Vuelta a España.
How to read the odds and what his record says before next season is covered on our Jonas Vingegaard odds page. His races are listed in the Jonas Vingegaard race schedule; as of 25 October 2026 the team has called the 2027 Tour de France the main goal, but the programme is not official.
Rules worth knowing
What happens if a rider does not start or abandons? How is a head-to-head settled if both riders abandon? What applies in a team time trial, where the whole team gets the same time? The answers differ between bookmakers, so read the rules first. Crashes are part of the sport: Vingegaard abandoned the 2026 Tour on stage 15 on 19 July while lying second.
Live betting during a stage
Many bookmakers offer live betting while a stage is being raced. A mountain stage can last five or six hours, and the odds move all the way: when a breakaway gains minutes, when a team lifts the pace, when crosswinds split the bunch and above all on the final climb. During crashes or unclear situations, betting may be suspended for a moment.
In Denmark the Tour de France is shown on TV 2 and TV 2 Play and on Eurosport and HBO Max, while the Giro d’Italia is broadcast only by Warner Bros. Discovery (Kanal 5, Eurosport, HBO Max). A stream can run seconds behind the road. The bigger issue is pace: when you can bet all afternoon, it is easy to lose track of what you have spent. Decide your limit before the stage starts and stick to it.
Our partner and the links on this site
Jonas Vingegaard Cykling is funded by advertising. Ads and banners are labelled “Ad” and 18+, and links to a partner go through an internal redirect on our own domain starting with /go/ and are marked as sponsored. As of 25 October 2026 we have not yet chosen a partner, so a click only leads to a neutral page. We will only work with a bookmaker licensed by Spillemyndigheden, and we show no odds or bonuses we cannot stand behind. Ads have no influence on our articles; read more on our advertising and affiliate links page. Jonas Vingegaard, his family and Visma | Lease a Bike have no connection with this site or with any bookmaker.
Bet on Jonas Vingegaard with care: ROFUS and StopSpillet
Betting should be entertainment, not a way to make money. Over time bettors lose on average, because the bookmaker’s margin is built into every price. Only stake an amount you have decided in advance you can do without, and never chase losses – not even when there is another stage tomorrow.
- ROFUS lets you exclude yourself from all Danish-licensed operators for 24 hours, one, three or six months, or permanently, with MitID at rofus.nu.
- StopSpillet offers free, anonymous advice on +45 70 22 28 25 and at stopspillet.dk – also for family and friends.
- Center for Ludomani offers free treatment, see ludomani.dk.
