The 2027 programme has not been officially announced (as of 25 October 2026). The team has said the 2027 Tour de France is the main goal.

Jonas Vingegaard race schedule 2027: what we know

After his crash at the Tour de France on 19 July 2026, Visma | Lease a Bike announced on 17 August that he would not race again in 2026 and that the goals for 2027 would be set in the coming weeks. The first concrete statement came on 22 October 2026, when Marc Reef of the team told Cyclingnews that the 2027 Tour de France is the main goal. Nothing more is official: neither his season opener, the spring stage races nor his final Tour warm-up has been announced.

According to Domestique (20 October 2026), the team is still weighing whether he should ride both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France again in the same summer. The outlet also mentions interest in the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de Romandie – two major week-long races he has never won – and in the 2027 World Championships in Haute-Savoie. These are considerations, not a programme. ProCyclingStats already lists the 2027 Tour in his calendar, but that is a provisional entry. In early October 2026 he was seen training in Mallorca, the same source says.

The 2027 Tour de France starts in Britain

The 2027 Tour begins on 2 July 2027 in Britain. The route has 71 km of time trialling and three summit finishes: the Grand Colombier, Les Saisies and the Col du Portet. That mix suits a rider who has won the Tour twice and taken several of his biggest wins in time trials and on long climbs. Where to watch in Denmark and how a race day works is explained on the Jonas Vingegaard race today page.

How he built his seasons from 2022 to 2026

Since his first Tour win in 2022, Vingegaard's schedule has followed a clear pattern: he opens in February or March with a smaller stage race or a WorldTour week-long race, rides one or two major stage races in spring, takes a long break with altitude training and returns in June for a final Tour warm-up. He races relatively little – according to ProCyclingStats 56 days in 2022, 68 in 2023, 44 in 2024, 62 in 2025 and 51 in 2026 – and hardly any one-day races.

2026: the Giro and the Tour in one summer

In 2026 he broke the pattern. He skipped the UAE Tour and opened with Paris-Nice in March, which he won, and two weeks later he won the Volta a Catalunya. Instead of the Dauphiné, the Giro d'Italia in May became his Tour preparation – and he won it at his first attempt with five stage wins. Five weeks later he lined up in Barcelona for the Tour, where the team won the opening team time trial, but the crash on stage 15 ended both his Tour and his season.

2025: the Tour and the Vuelta

The 2025 season began with victory at the Volta ao Algarve in February. At Paris-Nice he crashed on stage 5, suffered a concussion and did not start stage 6, and he also had to miss the Volta a Catalunya. He returned at the Critérium du Dauphiné, finishing second, and was then second at the Tour de France. Instead of ending his season there, he rode the Vuelta a España and won it with three stage wins. He finally started the European road race championships in October but did not finish.

The pattern in 2022 and 2023

In 2022 he opened with two one-day races in France and won the Drôme Classic. He then finished second at Tirreno-Adriatico and sixth at the Itzulia Basque Country, rode the Ardennes Classics without finishing and was second at the Dauphiné before winning his first Tour de France. After the Tour he rode the CRO Race and Il Lombardia.

2023 was his most successful season. He won O Gran Camiño in February, was third at Paris-Nice, won the Itzulia in April and the Dauphiné in June by 2:23 – the race's biggest winning margin since 1993. His second Tour win followed, and at the Vuelta he finished second behind team-mate Sepp Kuss. All his week-long race results are in Jonas Vingegaard's stage races.

Jonas Vingegaard race schedule 2024

His 2024 programme followed the same template: O Gran Camiño in February, Tirreno-Adriatico in March and the Itzulia Basque Country in April as the key races before the Tour. He won both O Gran Camiño and Tirreno-Adriatico, but on 4 April he crashed on a descent on stage 4 of the Itzulia. He broke his collarbone and several ribs and suffered a collapsed lung, and spent 12 days in hospital in Vitoria.

He did not race again before the Tour de France, where he still finished second and won stage 11 to Le Lioran. After the Tour he abandoned the Clásica San Sebastián but won the Tour de Pologne in August, 13 seconds ahead of Diego Ulissi – his last race of 2024. The Basque crash and his other accidents are covered in our overview of Jonas Vingegaard's crashes.

What it means for 2027

If the team follows the pattern of the last five seasons, 2027 would begin with a couple of week-long races in spring and a final warm-up in June – but that is not confirmed, and in 2026 the team chose a different route with the Giro. The only certainty is that the Tour is the main goal. When the programme is announced we will update the table at the top of this page, and you can follow his results on the Jonas Vingegaard results page. His two Tour wins and three second places are covered in Jonas Vingegaard at the Tour de France.
