Season by season since 2016

The table shows wins and race days for every season as counted by ProCyclingStats. In his three years with ColoQuick from 2016 to 2018 he won no professional races – the highlight was second place at the Tour of China I in 2016. His first professional win came on stage 6 of the Tour de Pologne on 8 August 2019. The breakthrough followed in 2021 with second place at the Tour de France, and since 2022 he has been among the world's best stage racers every year.

UCI World Ranking and PCS ranking

Jonas Vingegaard is number 6 in the UCI World Ranking with 4160.8 points (as of 22 October 2026). The ranking counts points from the last 52 weeks, so results from a year ago gradually drop out. On 22 October 2026 Tadej Pogačar led with 9,331.8 points ahead of Remco Evenepoel on 7,191.6. The official list is published by the UCI.

ProCyclingStats has its own ranking. As of 25 October 2026 he is seventh in the PCS ranking for 2026 with 1,871 points and 51st in the PCS all-time ranking. On his season page PCS also adds up his 2026 UCI points to 6,160.82 – that is the sum of this year's results, not the same as his position in the rolling world ranking.

How ProCyclingStats (PCS) counts his wins

If you look up Jonas Vingegaard on ProCyclingStats, you will see numbers that do not always match the team's or the media's. The reason is that PCS counts in several ways. His PCS rider page shows 54 professional wins (as of 25 October 2026), excluding team time trials, criteriums and the Hammer Stavanger team event.

  • 2026: the team and the PCS season statistics count 13 wins because the Tour de France team time trial is included. Without it there are 12 individual wins, and those are the ones that count among his professional victories.
  • 2023: the PCS season statistics give 16 wins, but they include a team time trial and the Daags na de Tour criterium.
  • 2019: the season statistics show 3 wins including Hammer Stavanger, but only the Tour de Pologne stage counts among the 54 professional wins.
  • Race days: the PCS figures for 2022 and 2023 (56 and 68 days) include criteriums; without them the totals are 54 and 67.

The win count in the season table follows the PCS season statistics, while 54 is the list of professional wins. Neither number is wrong – they simply measure different things.

Records Jonas Vingegaard has set

Several of his results are historic. With the 2026 Giro he became the eighth rider to win all three Grand Tours – after Jacques Anquetil, Felice Gimondi, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, Alberto Contador, Vincenzo Nibali and Chris Froome – and the first Dane. His five stage wins at the Giro are, according to TV Midtvest, the most by a Dane in a single Grand Tour. He is the second Danish Tour winner after Bjarne Riis, and from 2021 to 2025 he finished first or second at five Tours in a row.

At the 2023 Dauphiné he won by 2:23 – the biggest margin in the race since 1993. According to Wikipedia, his 2022 Tour win came at the highest average speed of any winner in the race's history. As early as 2018 he set a record on the Coll de Rates in Spain: 6.5 km in 13:02, 12 seconds faster than Tejay van Garderen. He won the Vélo d'Or in 2023 and was named Danish sports name of the year in 2022.
