Jonas Vingegaard Salary and Net Worth

How much does Jonas Vingegaard make? Salary, prize money and net worth – only figures reported by the media, clearly marked when they are estimates.

Updated 25 October 2026 ·

Jonas Vingegaard's salary is not public: neither he nor Visma | Lease a Bike has ever disclosed what he earns. Every figure in circulation is a media estimate. The most quoted estimate for 2026 is around €5 million a year, taken from a salary ranking by the Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport. Below we separate what is documented about his salary, prize money, sponsors and net worth from what is guesswork.

Jonas Vingegaard's salary according to the media

Professional cycling teams do not publish their riders' wages, and Visma | Lease a Bike is no exception. What is on record is the contract: Vingegaard has ridden for the team since 2019, when it was called Jumbo-Visma, and at the team presentation on 21 December 2023 his deal was extended to the end of 2028. The salary and bonus terms are not known. His agent is WSP Worldsport Promotion.

Any figure you see for his salary is therefore an estimate. The table lists the estimates from established media with the year and the source.

Salary rankings are usually based on information from agents, team managers and sources in the peloton, so they can be wide of the mark. When different media arrive at different figures for the same year, as in 2026, it shows how uncertain the numbers are. Treat them as a guide to the level – not as his payslip.

How much does Jonas Vingegaard earn a year?

If the Gazzetta estimate is right, Jonas Vingegaard earns around €5 million a year before tax – roughly DKK 37 million. That is a gross figure for his team salary only; win bonuses, prize money and personal sponsorship come on top. How much tax he pays and what is left is not public.

The trend, however, is clear. When his first big extension was signed in July 2021, the estimate was about €1.5 million a year. Since then he has won the Tour de France twice, the 2025 Vuelta a España and the 2026 Giro d'Italia, and the salary rankings now place him among the three best-paid riders in the peloton. His wins season by season are on the Jonas Vingegaard career page.

Prize money from the Tour, Giro and Vuelta

Prize money in cycling is public because the race organisers publish their prize lists. It is small compared with salaries, though, and it does not go straight into the winner's pocket. By long tradition, prize money is pooled and shared between the team's riders and often the staff. Each team uses its own formula, and Visma | Lease a Bike has not published its own.

On top of the overall prize come payments for stage wins, days in the leader's jersey and the other classifications. At the 2026 Giro d'Italia a stage win was worth €11,010 according to Domestique, and the wearer of the pink jersey received €2,000 a day. Vingegaard won five stages and wore pink from stage 14 to Rome. The Giro's overall prize is made up of a fixed fund and a special sponsor fund, so the amount can vary from year to year. Sponsors and personal deals

The team's main sponsors – Visma and Lease a Bike – pay the team, not the individual rider. Personal deals are rare in cycling because team sponsors control most of the equipment. One personal deal is documented: from the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné, Vingegaard raced in a red-and-white helmet in the colours of the Danish flag as part of a partnership with the Danish building-materials chain Bygma. The team approved the deal, which according to Brujula Bike initially ran until the end of 2025. At the 2026 Giro d'Italia he again wore a special helmet, as Cycling Weekly reported. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

We have not found any other personal sponsorship documented by reliable sources. Lists of "Vingegaard's sponsors" on foreign net-worth sites often name brands that belong to entirely different teams, and we do not repeat them.

Jonas Vingegaard's net worth – why there is no reliable figure

Search for Jonas Vingegaard's net worth and large numbers appear quickly. Claims of a fortune of "up to DKK 100 million" come from affiliate and blog sites that cite no source. We do not present such figures as fact.

The reason is simple: to know someone's net worth you need their income after tax, expenses, debts, property and investments. None of that is public. We have not found a company owned by Vingegaard with public accounts that could give a clue. What is known is that the family bought a large house just south of Glyngøre in April 2024 and moved in on 1 May 2024 – more on where Jonas Vingegaard lives. The purchase price is not among the details we could confirm.

Trine's company MyPreffy

His wife, Trine Marie Hansen, runs her own business. She is behind MyPreffy, an app where users recommend cafés and restaurants, launched in 2026. According to Se og Hør (6 July 2026) she is the sole owner of MyPreffy ApS, and its 2025 accounts showed a loss of DKK 625,524 – as expected for a start-up. The company is hers and says nothing about Jonas Vingegaard's own earnings. More about Trine on the page about Jonas Vingegaard's wife.
