Jonas Vingegaard has won a long list of week-long stage races: the Volta a Catalunya and Paris–Nice in 2026, the Tour of the Basque Country and the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2023, Tirreno–Adriatico and the Tour de Pologne in 2024 and the Volta ao Algarve in 2025. This page covers all of Jonas Vingegaard's stage races outside the Grand Tours – race by race, with placings, stage wins and the crashes that changed several of his seasons.
Jonas Vingegaard at the 2026 Volta a Catalunya
Catalunya in March 2026 was his second race on the road to the Giro d'Italia, and he won it at his first attempt. He struck on the two mountain stages: stage 5 from La Seu d'Urgell to La Molina/Coll de Pal on 27 March and stage 6 from Berga to Queralt the next day. He won by 1:22 from Lenny Martinez and 1:30 from Florian Lipowitz, and was also second on points and third in the mountains classification. In Denmark the race is shown on TV 2 and TV 2 Play as well as Eurosport and HBO Max.
Paris–Nice: the 2026 win and the 2025 crash
In 2023 he finished third behind Tadej Pogačar and David Gaudu, and his team won the team time trial. In 2025 he took the lead after stage 4 had been halted by a hailstorm and restarted, but crashed on stage 5 the next day. He suffered a concussion, a cut lip and a wrist injury, lost the jersey to team-mate Matteo Jorgenson and did not start stage 6.

In 2026 he made amends. On stage 4 from Bourges to Uchon Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe used the crosswinds to put time into every favourite except Vingegaard, who won the stage; the next day he also won stage 5 to Colombier-le-Vieux. He won overall by 4:23 from Dani Martínez and took the points and mountains jerseys as well – his first Paris–Nice title.
Jonas Vingegaard at the Tour of the Basque Country
Itzulia is the stage race he has ridden most often. He was 32nd in 2019, second in 2021 behind team-mate Primož Roglič while winning the young rider classification, sixth in 2022 and the winner in 2023, with stages 3, 4 and 6 and the points classification.
In 2024 the race ended abruptly. On 4 April he crashed on a descent on stage 4, about 35 km from the finish, in a pile-up that also involved Roglič, Remco Evenepoel and Jay Vine. He broke his collarbone and several ribs, suffered a collapsed lung and spent 12 days in hospital in Vitoria – see our crash page. He has not ridden the race since.
Tour de Pologne: first WorldTour win and the 2024 title
On 8 August 2019 he won stage 6 of the Tour de Pologne – his first WorldTour victory, in his debut season with Jumbo-Visma – and finished 26th overall. In 2020 he came back and finished eighth. In 2024, three weeks after finishing second at the Tour de France, he was second in the stage 2 time trial, took the leader's jersey and kept it to the end, winning on 18 August by 13 seconds from Diego Ulissi. He then ended his season, skipping the Vuelta and the World Championships. So his Tour de Pologne placings are 26th (2019), 8th (2020) and 1st (2024).

Tirreno–Adriatico and the Critérium du Dauphiné
At Tirreno–Adriatico he was second in 2022 and won in 2024, with stages 5 and 6, the mountains classification and a margin of 1:24 over Juan Ayuso, who remarked that he saw himself as "the first human" in the race. The Dauphiné, renamed Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes from 2026, has been his key Tour warm-up: 51st in 2021, second in 2022 behind Roglič with the queen stage, winner in 2023 with stages 5 and 7 and a margin of 2:23 over Adam Yates – the biggest since 1993 – and second in 2025, 59 seconds behind Pogačar. His results against the clock in these races are on our time trial page.
Tour of Denmark, Algarve, Gran Camiño and the rest
He has ridden the Tour of Denmark (Danmark Rundt) only once, finishing second in 2019, 11 seconds behind Niklas Larsen; TV 2 takes over the race rights from 2027. O Gran Camiño in Galicia he won in 2023 and 2024, winning every contested stage in 2023 and every stage except the opening time trial in 2024. In 2025 he won the Volta ao Algarve, overturning a 20-second deficit by winning the final uphill time trial to Malhão. He also won Coppi e Bartali in 2021 and lost the 2022 CRO Race to Matej Mohorič by a single second.
Two of the seven big week-long races are still missing: the Tour de Romandie, which he rode as a domestique in 2019 (72nd), and the Tour de Suisse, which he has never started. His 2027 races had not been officially announced as of 25 October 2026 – see his race schedule – and every race day is listed on our results page.
